Evening visit - Tuesday 8 August - Tranby Croft

Hedon & District Local History Society's final visit of the summer will be a guided tour of Tranby Croft, the country mansion built in 1874-6 for Hull shipping magnate Arthur Wilson, the site in 1890 of the Royal Baccarat Scandal - when Sir William Gordon-Cumming was accused of cheating at illegal card games attended by Edward, Prince of Wales - and now home to Hull Collegiate School.

After the tour, Martin and Pauline cordially invite you to Hessle, where refreshments will be served. Full directions will be provided on the evening.
